To the Kingdom of Tooro and the People of Uganda

To Her Majesty the Queen Mother Omugo Best Kemigisa, to the Royal House of the Kingdom of Tooro, to the Government and People of the Republic of Uganda, and to all sister nations of the African continent,

The Throne of the Kongo Basin has learned with deep emotion and profound reflection of the passing of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, King of the Kingdom of Tooro. On this day of grief that touches the very heart of our continent, the Throne of the Kongo bows in deep fraternal respect before the memory of a sovereign whose influence reached far beyond his kingdom's borders.

History will forever remember that Omukama Oyo was enthroned on 12 September 1995, at the age of three, bearing from the dawn of his life the sacred weight of a crown entrusted to him by his ancestors. This extraordinary destiny made him one of the youngest monarchs in world history. His people recognized in this child the rightful guardian of Tooro's soul and the heir to a thousand-year-old culture.

Throughout his reign, His Majesty embodied with grace, wisdom, and devotion the noblest virtues of African royalty. A tireless ambassador for the dignity of our peoples and a faithful guardian of our traditions, he was a true light for African youth, reminding the whole world that our ancestral institutions remain alive, powerful, and timeless.

In these dark hours, the Throne of the Kongo Basin extends to Her Majesty the Queen Mother, to the Royal House of the Kingdom of Tooro, and to the valiant Ugandan people, its most sincere condolences. All of Africa shares in your mourning. The People of the Kongo pray with you, mourn alongside you, and offer you their unwavering solidarity in this time of trial.

May the Almighty welcome the royal soul of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV into His infinite mercy. May his invaluable legacy continue to inspire the Kingdom of Tooro and to illuminate our African land, honored from generation to generation.

May the land of his ancestors rest lightly upon him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Issued from Our Throne of the Kongo Basin,
on this day of shared African mourning.

His Majesty Masambukidi I
King of the Kongo Basin
